The Peninsula Hong Kong, known as the “Grande Dame of the Far East,” is the oldest hotel in Hong Kong and a flagship of the Peninsula Hotels group. Since its establishment in 1928, the hotel has exuded an aura of old-world glamour and sophistication. Today, The Peninsula continues to captivate guests with its opulent interiors, grandeur, and impeccable service, solidifying its reputation as one of the premier luxury hotel brands in Asia and beyond.
From the moment you set foot at this hotel in Hong Kong, you will be transported to a world unlike any other. The colonial white facade and the presence of luxurious Brewster green Rolls Royce Phantoms, along with the pageboys in pillbox hats, create a grand entrance. As you step through the wide glass doorway, you are greeted by a majestic lobby adorned with gold-clad pillars. The enchanting sounds of a live string quartet fill the air, adding to the ambience as you make your way to the check-in area.
The Rooms:
In 2013, The Peninsula underwent a renovation that brought a modern touch to its classic rooms. The rooms now feature warm brown woods and soft leather, complemented by high-tech amenities such as touch-screen tablets and bedside tablet devices. These devices allow guests to control various aspects of their stay, including lights, TVs, room service, and even make free long-distance VOIP calls.
As if that’s not enough, the hotel’s Electronic Services Department has designed a fully customised interactive tablet that allows guests to personalise their honeymoon or romantic holiday. From ordering room service and watching TV and movies to adjusting the lights and curtains, this innovative and user-friendly technology enhances the overall experience, making it the ultimate Hong Kong honeymoon destination.
The Peninsula Hong Kong offers a variety of guest rooms, with 300 in total. The original building has 165 rooms, while The Tower has an additional 135 rooms. Among these are 52 suites, as well as two ultra-luxurious suites known as the Marco Polo Suite and the Peninsula Suite. Guests can choose from a range of options, from Deluxe rooms with courtyard or harbour views to more luxurious Superior and Grand Deluxe suites. For those seeking a romantic getaway or special occasion, upgrading to a Grand Deluxe Harbour View room is recommended for its stunning views.
Food & Drink
When it comes to food and drink, The Peninsula has you covered with its impressive selection of eight restaurants and lounges. Among them are two Michelin-starred establishments: Gaddi’s, a French fine dining restaurant, and Spring Moon, an exquisite Chinese restaurant.
We enjoyed a romantic dining experience that we will never forget at Gaddi’s, indulging in classic French haute cuisine and world-class service. Hailed as one of Asia’s most outstanding and luxurious dining experiences, Gaddi’s opened its doors in 1953 and today retains much of the atmosphere from those grand old days. Truly one of the most wonderfully romantic evenings we’ve ever experienced – do not miss it!
If you’re looking for a modern European dining experience with stunning views, Felix is the place to be, designed by Philippe Starck. For a taste of Swiss cuisine, Chesa offers fondue and raclette in a cozy Alpine chalet setting. And of course, you can’t miss The Lobby, which has been serving up delightful afternoon teas for over 80 years. Finally, The Bar is the perfect spot to enjoy fine spirits and whiskies while listening to live piano jazz.

The staff are exceptionally helpful, friendly, and polite, and they take great pride in their work and the hotel – they are always ready to assist with any needs.
