Overview:

For couples celebrating a special occasion — be it a romantic honeymoon or a milestone anniversary — The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is an exceptional choice. Located in the heart of the Lion City, this iconic five-star hotel has epitomised Singapore sophistication since 1928. As you step through the grand entrance and into the lobby, its expansive atrium illuminated by the warm glow of chandeliers, you’re immediately embraced by the property’s timeless charm.

Originally the General Post Office and later the Exchange Room, Chamber of Commerce, and Singapore Club, The Fullerton’s rich history is seamlessly integrated into its current grandeur. The building’s neoclassical façade and art deco-inspired interiors reflect a meticulous restoration completed in 2001. Recognised as a National Monument in 2015, this landmark property masterfully blends heritage grace with modern luxury, ensuring an unforgettable stay in Singapore.

The location:

Nestled in the city centre, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is close to everything you’ll want to see and do in Singapore — provided you can tear yourselves away from these elegant surrounds and the impeccable hospitality. The staff seems to have written the book on regal service, as graceful as the surroundings themselves

Enjoy quick access to Merlion Park, National Gallery Singapore, Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, Little India, Chinatown, Orchard Road, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Mandai Wildlife Reserve, and Sentosa Island, with Raffles Place MRT station just a few minutes’ walk away. You’ll also have plenty of shopping and dining at your fingertips within the hotel.

The best way to soak up the setting is around the 25-metre infinity pool that takes in river views on one side and the hotel’s towering classical Doric columns on the other. Old and new converge on this much-photographed terrace, with The Fullerton’s enduring majesty juxtaposed with sleek skyscrapers piercing the clouds above.

Food & drink

When you’re exploring Singapore, the vibrant hawker stations and local delicacies are a must-try to truly grasp the essence of the city. However, for a taste of refined indulgence right on your doorstep, The Fullerton offers a culinary journey that complements its magnificent surroundings.

At Town Restaurant, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast or dinner served with sweeping river views —be sure to book the excellent Sunday brunch if you have the opportunity. For a charming afternoon tea experience, head to The Courtyard. The theme during our stay, ‘For the Love of Chocolate,’ was an irresistible treat. Each morsel was divine, from the Norwegian smoked trout and cucumber sandwiches to the dark chocolate choux with hazelnut praline.

For authentic Chinese cuisine, Jade delivers under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Leong Chee Yeng: a culinary master who also happens to be a gifted sculptor, ceramicist, painter and calligrapher! The restaurant’s ambience, enhanced by jade hues and soothing lantern lighting, offers a luxurious setting for the equally exquisite dishes.

Another dining highlight can be found just across the road at The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore (also home to rooftop bar Lantern). La Brasserie is the hotel’s French bistro, offering a deliciously intimate experience with a backdrop of stunning Marina Bay views. The atmosphere is chic and romantic, with soaring ceilings, moody lighting for a cosy evening, and plush seating inviting you to linger.

Dining here was one of the culinary highlights of our stay in Singapore. I began with a beautifully crafted dish of crab, beetroot, ginger, fennel, and apple cider. Despite initial reservations about a seafood overload, the Hokkaido scallops, paired with parsnip, celeriac, almond milk, samphire, vin jaune, and truffle, were an irresistible main, complemented by wild mushrooms — button, trumpet, morel, pearl onion, and shio kombu — cooked to perfection. You won’t want to leave Singapore without booking a table for two at La Brasserie.

Best room for two:

Truly, every detail of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has been curated with the discerning couple in mind, from the softly elegant palette and double-height French doors to the BALMAIN collection bath amenities and perfectly pressed bedsheets. There are 400 luxurious rooms and suites that deliver views of the sunny atrium or open to private balconies and river, sea, or city views.

Fullerton Suite Balcony

While all the rooms are amazing, we stayed in (and can highly recommend) the two-storey Loft Suite, a shining star for couples with vaulted ceilings and access to the second level via a spiral staircase. The French doors open to a private balcony, flanked by 20-foot Doric columns, and sensational views of neighbouring Marina Bay. Have a bottle of bubbly sent up and enjoy some alone time while gazing at the glorious vistas or cosy up in the regal bedroom, designed with a captivating blend of Eastern and Western influences. The interior accents of florals and Oriental ceramics express the care The Fullerton has taken to enhance your stay in Singapore.

Additional benefits include a daily champagne breakfast, afternoon tea, evening canapés and cocktails, round-the-clock personalised service, preferred laundry rates, and much more. Definitely worth the upgrade!

Spa & leisure
The Fullerton Spa is celebrated for its luxurious treatments and products (co-curated with premium spa brand ESPA) and serene, oasis-like design that promotes ultimate relaxation and renewal. With a host of awards and accolades to its name, the spa excels in delivering exceptional experiences that dissolve stress and invigorate the spirit. And if you fancy a little side-by-side pampering, there are several well-appointed couple’s suites on offer.

The Asian Heritage Signature was my pick of the spa menu: 90 minutes of true indulgence. Therapist Karen, whose expertise truly felt magical, worked wonders on my tired and tight muscles, while the stress-relieving scalp massage helped me unwind completely. This holistic treatment is infused with ESPA products and combines active stretching with deep muscle massage, targeting key areas such as a stiff neck, aching lower back, or clenched shoulders to bring profound relaxation and balance. Like others on the menu, this treatment includes access to the spa’s wellness facilities, including the steam room, sauna, and that incredible outdoor infinity pool.

If you’re on a roll with your fitness, the mezzanine-floor fitness centre makes it easy to stay on track — and we enhanced our experience with a pre-gym morning walk along the scenic Marina Bay promenade.
